Ingredients
- 3 to 4 granny smith apples
- 3 to 4 yams
Boil yams for 20 minutes. Cool and peel, skin and sliced (round) Slice and peel apples. Layer in a 9 x 13.
Sauce Ingredients
- 1/2 cup brown sugar
- 1/2 cup white sugar
- 1 1/2 cup orange juice
- 1 cup butter
- 3/4 tsp. salt
- 2 1/2 TB cornstarch
- 1/2 tsp. cinnamon
- 1/2 tsp nutmeg
Mix dry then add wet ingredients. Cook on medium heat until thick. Pour over yams/apples. Bake 350 degrees for 1 1/2 hours. 30 minutes before done, put on topping.
Topping Ingredients
- 1/4 cup brown sugar
- 3 TB butter
- 1/3 cup chopped pecans
