Grandma Eliason’s famous homemade rolls.
Ingredients
- 1 cup shortening
- 1 cup boiling water
- 3/4 cup sugar
- 2 tsp salt
- 1 cup cold water
- 4 beaten eggs
- 7 1/2 cups flour
- 2 yeast dissolved in 1/2 cup warm water
Directions
- Whip shortening and boiling water. Add sugar, salt, cold water, eggs, and yeast.
- Add flour, mixing well.
- Cover with damp cloth and set in refrigerator.
- When ready to shape, place dough on floured board. Cut dough, in quarters. Roll dough and cut rolls and place them on greased baking sheet.
- Let rise to double in bulk for two hours or more.
- Bake at 400 degree for 8-10 minutes.
